Eurotank’s security supply partner Big Brother has unveiled a debt collection service along with a new website dedicated to the UK market – www.stopdriveoffs.co.uk.
Integrating with Big Brother’s Watch-it ANPR CCTV system, the debt collection service enables retailers to gather all pieces of evidence from a drive-off or no means of payment incident and send it off to the debt collector with just a few clicks of a mouse.
Retailers cannot only recover the lost money when someone drives off without paying but also earn commission – up to 20% – on top.
Hendrik van der Velde, who heads up Big Brother sales in the UK, says: “Normally retailers need to work on their pos to retract the transaction details, work on their general CCTV-system to retract the footage belonging to the drive-off or no means of payment, and then work on a third-party tablet to centralise all this information before it can be sent to the debt collector.
“Watch-it automates this process via system integrations with the pos and debt collector, saving retailers lots of time and also preventing human error. At this stage we don’t have a lot of information about the time it takes the debt collector to recover the money because we’re just starting with this service in the UK. What we do know is that the recovery rate will be around 70% in the combination of drive-offs and no means of payments.”
