EE heads to the Channel Islands for tank testing

Eurotank Environmental has taken a trip to the Channel Islands to carry out tank testing on five sites.

Eurotank completed tank tests on a total of 20 tanks over a six-day period in Jersey and Guernsey, with Tank Test Certificates issued for each site.

A detailed report was supplied, highlighting further works required. For example, one site was found to have a tank out of action and needing to be properly decommissioned, as well as a tank that failed due to a leak in the tank chamber close to the vent.

The same site also had incorrectly labelled tank vents, and two tanks containing water, which needed to be uplifted and safely disposed of.

At another site, two tanks were found to have leaks on the connection to the secondary containment, while three sites were found to have no electronic tank gauging.

Budget prices were supplied for all remedial works required.

Regular tank testing is necessary to confirm the integrity of tanks, particularly if they are ageing single-skin tanks that haven’t been cleaned in a long time.
