Two Europump engineers raced to the rescue of Lawrence Garages (London) in Southampton recently, to fit a new DOMS 5000 box and ensure the site’s grand re-opening went ahead.
The BP Sholing forecourt was gutted by a fire last summer and since then had been trading out of a temporary building in front of the fire-damaged shop. In March, it closed for eight days while work was done and new pumps were installed by a third party. However, the day before the grand re-opening, the DOMS box shorted out and stopped working.
Lawrence Garages director Ben Lawrence said: “Europump Field Manager Simon Brown travelled down from Birmingham to Southampton to help our local engineer Doru Ionita sort things out.
"They were here from 6pm to 1am to get the job done – as we were re-opening at 6am. Europump absolutely saved us by fitting a new DOMS 5000 box and they also remounted our Fairbanks box.”
In addition, the new pumps needed renumbering as they had been set up wrong. All the pumps were then tested to ensure they were working properly prior to the grand re-opening. Ben continued: “Europump definitely got us out of a deep hole. The customer service at Europump is second to none; the team are all extremely accessible and always ready to help.”
